Eric Nusbaum and Craig Robinson (currently writing in the third person) live in Mexico City. They both like baseball. And talking. (I’m gonna abandon the third person thing now.) So we decided to occasionally record what we talk about when we go out to a bar. And it will then be preserved forever as a podcast.
For the time being, it’s not gonna be on iTunes.
Here’s episode one.

If you wanna ask us anything, go for it.
Eric and I podcastin’.
Should you give a shit about listening to Eric Nusbaum and I doing a podcast (ie. talking to each other in a bar), please to be going to this URL, cos we are, right now, ignoring iTunes. The name of the podcast is The Pete and Ted Show, and this is episode one: https://soundcloud.com/peteandted/the-pete-and-ted-show-no-1
SkyDome “Program Guy” July 20, 2005
My heart was warmed when I saw “Ralph” plying his trade up in the 500 level concourse before the home opener this year. He’s been selling programs at the ballpark since back at Exhibition Stadium, so to me, seeing him is part of the ballpark experience.
I’ve long been fascinated by this man. You may have seen him doing his thing at the Air Canada Centre as well. I know I have. Way back in Exhibition Stadium days, while hanging outside waiting to meet a friend long before game time, I heard somebody come up to him, call him by name, and stop for a friendly chat. Since that time, I’ve always said “Hi Ralph” when I’ve seen him at the ballpark. Scripted awkwardness generally ensues, which you can read more about on page 132 of the wonderful Flip Flop Flyball: An Infographic Baseball Adventure.
Problem is, in just the last year I learned that his name is really Rafael, or “Raf”. Sounds close, though, no? At one point I was going to start a Tumblr solely dedicated to our dearly beloved Program Guy. If you have any pictures on hand, or take any during the season, feel free to submit them.

Felix.
A friend and I were talking earlier this week; she had just downloaded a painting app to her iPad called ArtRage. This reminded me that I had the app, and hadn’t really played with it much. It’s okay. Kinda nice. Has lots of faux painting things going on (pencil, watercolour, oil, palette knife, etc.). So, when I was mucking around with it, I noticed you could import photographs. I imported a screenshot of a moment of Mariners baseball. And using the palette knife tool found that you can move the colours of the photograph around like they are wet paint. Which is kinda cute. It’s not an app I will use very often, but, y’know, fun.

I’m sure the broadcasters were glad that the score bug was covering most of this Astros fan’s celebration of Marwin Gonzalez’s hit.
Seen outside Foro Sol after the Diablos Rojos game on Sunday: kid rockin’ the black and fluorescent yellow look, with a pair of truly awesome socks.
MLB.tv’s new commercial break background graphic looks like it was borrowed from a mid-90s drum ‘n’ bass compilation CD.
