I went to the “[Name of Sponsor] Capital 2012” festival here in Mexico City at the weekend. I had a wonderful time, thanks for asking. Saw Die Antwoord, Suede, M. Ward, Tegan and Sara, DJ Shadow, and New Order amongst others.
I also kept a mental note of which MLB caps I saw the young and beautiful Mexican festival-goers wearing. As you might imagine, the Yankees cap was by far the most popular. Running pretty much neck-and-neck for second place were Red Sox, Giants and Dodgers. There were a healthy number of Braves caps too. I saw the caps of 20 of the 30 MLB teams. The teams not represented on the heads of Mexican music lovers: Tigers, Royals, Angels, Marlins, Twins, Phillies, Mariners, Rays, Rangers, and Nationals.
Not that many Mexican baseball caps on display: a couple of people wearing Diablos Rojos caps, and one dude wearing the cap of Liga Pacifico team, Tomateros de Culiacán.
And I saw a kid, no older than ten, wearing an Expos cap.
And DJ Shadow was wearing a Giants cap.
